Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
At celvorantixo, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our expense categorization services.
We're based in Australia and comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles. But honestly, we'd protect your data even if the law didn't require it—because that's just how we operate.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect what we need to provide our services properly. Nothing more, nothing less.
Personal Information
When you sign up or use celvorantixo, we collect:
- Your name and email address for account creation and communication
- Phone number if you choose to provide it for support purposes
- Business information including ABN or ACN for invoicing
- Payment details processed through our secure third-party payment providers
Financial Data
Our core service involves categorizing expenses, so we collect:
- Transaction descriptions and amounts from your uploaded statements
- Account numbers (last four digits only for identification)
- Merchant names and transaction dates
- Your categorization preferences and custom category setups
Technical Information
Like most online services, we automatically collect certain technical data:
- IP address and browser type for security monitoring
- Device information and operating system details
- Login times and feature usage patterns
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (more on this below)
2. How We Use Your Information
We're not in the business of selling your data. Here's what we actually do with it:
- Provide and improve our expense categorization service, including machine learning models that get better at understanding your spending patterns
- Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests
- Process payments and maintain accurate billing records
- Detect and prevent fraud, security breaches, or misuse of our platform
- Comply with legal obligations including tax reporting and financial regulations
- Analyze aggregated usage data to improve our features (your individual data stays private)
We might also send you occasional product updates or tips about using celvorantixo more effectively. You can opt out of these anytime—we won't take it personally.
Important Note: We never use your financial transaction data for advertising purposes. Your expense information is used solely to provide categorization services to you.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers located in Australia, with backup systems in Sydney and Melbourne data centers. We use industry-standard encryption both in transit and at rest.
Security Measures
- 256-bit SSL encryption for all data transmission
- Multi-factor authentication options for account access
- Regular security audits conducted by independent third parties
- Restricted employee access with strict need-to-know protocols
- Automated monitoring for suspicious activity and unauthorized access attempts
- Regular backups with encrypted storage solutions
That said, no system is 100% secure. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we'll notify you within 72 hours as required by Australian law—and probably sooner because we'd want to know immediately too.
4. Sharing Your Information
We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Period.
However, we do share limited data with certain trusted partners to operate our service:
| Partner Type | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Payment Processors | Handle subscription payments | Payment details, email, billing address |
| Cloud Hosting | Store application and user data | All account and transaction data |
| Email Service | Send account notifications and support messages | Email address, name, communication preferences |
| Analytics Tools | Understand usage patterns and improve service | Aggregated, anonymized usage data only |
All our partners are required to maintain strict confidentiality and security standards. We have data processing agreements with each one.
Legal Disclosure
We might disclose your information if required by Australian law, court order, or government request. We'll notify you unless legally prohibited from doing so.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Under Australian privacy law, you have several rights regarding your personal information:
Access and Correction
You can access or update your personal information anytime through your account settings. If you can't find what you need, contact us and we'll help within 30 days.
Data Portability
Want to take your data elsewhere? We'll provide your transaction and categorization data in CSV format within 14 days of your request. No hassle, no judgment.
Deletion Rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. We'll process this within 30 days, though we might need to retain certain records for legal compliance (tax obligations, fraud prevention, etc.).
Marketing Preferences
Opt out of marketing emails through the unsubscribe link in any message, or adjust preferences in your account settings. You'll still receive essential service notifications.
Cookie Management
You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this might affect some features. We use cookies for session management, security, and to remember your preferences.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as you maintain an active account. After account closure:
- Personal profile information is deleted within 30 days
- Transaction data is anonymized and retained for up to 12 months for service improvement
- Financial records required for tax purposes are kept for 7 years as per Australian tax law
- Security logs and fraud prevention data may be retained longer if legally required
You can request immediate deletion of non-legally-required data at any time.
7. International Data Transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed within Australia. However, some of our service providers operate globally, which means your information might occasionally be transferred overseas.
When this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by Australian privacy regulators
- Verification that recipient countries have adequate privacy protections
- Binding corporate rules for multinational service providers
Currently, some data might flow to service providers in the United States and Singapore, all of whom comply with strict data protection standards.
8. Children's Privacy
celvorantixo is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We review and update this privacy policy periodically—at least annually, and whenever we make significant changes to how we handle data.
When we make changes, we'll notify you via email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
Your continued use of celvorantixo after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree with changes, you can close your account before they take effect.
10. Complaints and Disputes
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first. We'll investigate and respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
